we’re back and better than before

Hey there! We’re John and Eva, the sibling duo behind Better Blends. For us, this has never just been a business — it’s personal. Our guts have been through it all: the bloat, the bad powders, the so-called “miracle” fixes that only made things worse. Out of frustration (and a little sibling stubbornness), we set out to create something better — something our stomachs could actually trust.

 how it all began

Back in 2019, Better Blends started out as a frozen smoothie company. To my surprise, it quickly gained traction — people loved the smoothies! With no team behind me, I was hand-making every single blend in a small Chicago kitchen, often late into the night. Before long, Whole Foods Market picked us up, and we landed in all of their Illinois stores. Within just three months, we became their #1 selling frozen item in the fruit section — outpacing the national brands right beside us on shelf.

But just as momentum was building, life threw me the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced: cancer. I was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma and had to make the painful decision to pause the business and focus entirely on my health. Running the company alone was already a heavy lift, and moving to Minnesota for treatment meant stepping away from the kitchen in Chicago.

Cancer forced me to stop — but it also gave me perspective. It reminded me that health is everything and gave me the space to reimagine what Better Blends could become. I knew that if I came back, it would be stronger and truer to our mission: gut-friendly blends that fuel your body and help you feel your best.

our 2021 come back

In 2021, after finishing cancer treatment, I was ready to bring Better Blends back. That season taught me something important: if we wanted to make the impact I dreamed of, frozen smoothies weren’t the way. They kept us boxed into Chicago, reaching only those who could grab them in local stores. The solution? Protein powders — nutrient-dense, delicious, and the perfect vehicle for functional ingredients that support digestive health. Even better, powders let us share our gut-friendly blends nationwide without the limits of refrigeration or shipping.

That year, we relaunched as a supplement brand with our first line of protein powders. Within months, we became a top Amazon seller — the very first Low FODMAP protein powder on the market. The response blew us away. But with growth came a new challenge: our original formula relied heavily on imported ingredients. Long lead times, unpredictable supply chains, and constant out-of-stocks slowed us down. It became clear that the way forward wasn’t just about creating a great product — it was about building a foundation that could truly scale.

So, we went back to the drawing boards and over the past year, we’ve reimagined Better Blends from the inside out:

  •  New formulas, made entirely with U.S.-sourced ingredients for reliability and consistency.
  •  Smarter packaging, designed to look great and reduce delays.
  •  More inclusive blends, moving beyond collagen & oat so vegan and gluten-free customers can enjoy them too.
  •  Recipes that deliver, pairing great taste with unmatched digestive support.

And because Better Blends has always been about more than just what’s in the bag, we rebranded with a bold new look and personality — fun, colorful, and unapologetically us.

Today, we’re thrilled to bring you a better version of Better Blends. One that’s built to last, made to include, and designed to bring joy back to your wellness journey.

Trust your gut — it’s back and better than ever.

I’m John — the founder of Better Blends. For over five years, this journey has been full of ups, downs, and plenty of aha moments. What began as a frozen smoothie side hustle has grown into a brand bursting with life, flavor, and gut-friendly formulas. After struggling with my own gut health, I knew there had to be a better way — protein powders that weren’t gross, boring, or hard on your stomach. Better Blends is proof that yes, it’s possible.

I’m Eva — the newest official member of Better Blends, though I’ve been cheering John on since he first launched this crazy idea back in 2019. I’ve always been passionate about wellness and love building genuine connections, so joining the brand felt like the perfect fit. Now, I get to lead the charge in growing our community and spreading the Better Blends message across social — a role that combines everything I care about into one.

our mission

At Better Blends, we believe great health starts with gut health. Our mission is simple: create nutrition that works to support the whole body — starting with your gut. We were tired of gross powders, fake promises, and wellness goals that felt impossible to reach. So, we set out to do things differently.

We promise:

✅ Clean, plant-based proteins

✅ Functional ingredients that support digestive health

✅ Delicious powders you’ll actually look forward to

Why are our blends different?

Because they were built out of necessity. We needed something we could drink every day without regrets. That meant creating formulas that are:

  • Low-FODMAP & gut-friendly — no more bloat bombs.

  • Packed with functional support like prebiotics and fibers.

  • Actually delicious — because life’s too short for bad shakes.

Better Blends isn’t just protein powder. It’s wellness made fun, functional, and finally, something your belly will thank you for.
